Summer Staycation Offers

  • The summer “Sip, Savor & Splash Package” begins at $159 per room, per night and includes a $50 dining credit, valid May 17 – September 6, 2010
  • The National Geographic Explorers Camp Package starts at $189 per room, per night, May 28 through September 6, 2010 and includes: half-day session to the National Geographic Explorers Camp (ages 5-12) for up to three children and a National Geographic-themed kid’s breakfast in LV Bistro, for ages 5-12, for up to three children.
  • Grand Getaway in Gold – Here’s a golden opportunity to earn a grand: when booking four nights in a Fairmont Gold Junior Suite this summer, resort guests receive $1,000 credit to spend on dining, shopping and spa experiences throughout Fairmont Scottsdale. The Fairmont Gold Junior Suites are spacious and secluded in an enclave that includes access to the Fairmont Gold Lounge, where dedicated Gold Concierges extend even greater attention to personalized service. An ideal spot for couples, the Fairmont Gold Lounge offers complimentary continental breakfast, afternoon appetizers and honor bar, along with newspapers, magazines, computers, residential furniture and a large, flat screen TV to relax and unwind. Guests also enjoy access to Willow Stream spa including the fitness center and private rooftop pool, and complimentary parking. World Class Dining With Summer Value Pricing

Summer Prix Fixe Menu at Michael Mina’s BOURBON STEAK - One of Scottsdale’s hottest steak restaurants, BOURBON STEAK is celebrating summer with a new three-course menu from Executive Chef Daniel Patino, featuring three courses for only $39 per person. Choices include beef carpaccio, summer lettuces, rice-crusted calamari, poached wild salmon, prime beef short ribs, passion fruit panna cotta and a summer parfait. For an additional $22 per person, Sommelier Aaron Patrick pairs each course with the perfect summer wine from the restaurant’s 3,000 bottle wine cellar. Summer cocktails are also in season including the “Peach Blow,” a refreshing blend of gin, peach brandy and lemon juice topped with a splash of club soda and the “Bee’s Knees” made of gin, lemon juice and honey syrup. The summer value menu is now offered Tuesday through Saturday, 5:30 pm – 10 pm.

Fiesta Fridays at La Hacienda by Richard Sandoval - A suckling pig roast, a tortilla-maker, mariachis and tastings with the Goddess of Tequila make this “the” party on the patio at the Princess. The new La Hacienda, a Valley favorite which recently re-opened with a contemporary style, brings an authentic taste of Mexico from the “father of modern Mexican cuisine,” Richard Sandoval. Collaborating with Chef de Cuisine Forest Hamrick, the two have created a menu that serves the unexpected, infusing a light, modern twist on traditional Mexican food. The price of the Fiesta Friday buffet is $29 for adults, $13 for children and kids five and younger dine free with the purchase of an adult buffet or entrée. (Tequila and Cocktails are a la carte.)

Lobster Fest at The Grill at the TPC Scottsdale – Bringing a bit of the ocean to the desert, fresh lobster is featured every Saturday night at The Grill beginning Memorial Day weekend. Guests choose their lobster either grilled, boiled or classic Thermidor, accompanied with grilled corn on the cob, buttered fresh green asparagus, Yukon gold baked potatoes and an oven-roasted vegetable salad, all served family style. The fest finishes with Tarragon vanilla ice cream with a grilled summer peach and caramel drizzle, all for $38 per person. Lobster Fest is available 6 pm – 9 pm during summer Saturday nights.

LV Bistro Restaurant & Kids Playroom - Overlooking the South Pool, LV Bistro serves farm-fresh breakfast, lunch and dinner, which is perfect for families. Along with a new Nat Geo-themed children’s menu -- which kids see by clicking through a Fisher-Price View-Master -- LV Bistro has a children’s playroom complete with comfortable kid couches, games, books, movies, wall chalkboard and even a foosball table. Parents can relax and enjoy their meal, while their children play nearby.

Kids Resort Dining Pass – Easy and affordable, kid’s will enjoy breakfast, lunch and dinner, all for $25 per child, per day. Children, ages 5-12, dine off the kids’ menus in these locations: breakfast, lunch and dinner in LV Bistro (perfect for families with its game room), lunch at the pool, and dinner at La Hacienda by Richard Sandoval or The Grill at TPC Scottsdale. Plus, the Kids Resort Dining Pass includes a ticket for free movie candy or popcorn and a kids Freeze beverage during the weekend “dive-in” movie. Parents, who are overnight resort guests, may purchase the dining pass upon check-in.

Adult Date-Night – Childcare when you dine at resort Friday and Saturday nights - Parents can dine in resort restaurants or book a body experience in Willow Stream spa may check the kids (ages 5-12) in National Geographic Explorers Camp movie nights and charges will be waived when they present their dining or spa check. Imagine go for dinner, know the kid’s are having a great time nearby at resort’s Explorer’s Camp and save the cost of the babysitter.

Splish, Splash and Socialize at Five Resort Pools

Sonoran Splash -At Sonoran Splash, families can spend all day at this 6,000 square-foot oasis, featuring two, 200-foot twisting water slides. For tots, there is a zero-entry deck area as well as a large sandbox complete with Tonka trucks and beach toys sure to keep little ones entertained for hours. Sonoran Splash is one of two pool areas that also offer luxurious cabanas for rental, as well as poolside butlers to anticipate every need.

FREEZE! - Perfect for those sunny summer days, the resort is introducing Freeze, an a frozen drink and ice cream bar on Memorial Day weekend, serving frothy frozen concoctions for kids and adults. Freeze will be located at the entrance of the family fun zone, the East Pool.

Summer Dive-In Movies - Families can dive in, stay cool and see a variety of family movies shown complimentary at the East Pool, Friday and Saturday nights, all summer long. Making it extra-fun, movie-watchers can enjoy concessions from FREEZE … sip drinks from their glow-in-the-dark hurricane glasses and adorn themselves with glow-in-the-dark necklaces … then float on inner tubes as the family flick begins

National Geographic Explorer Speaker Series and Ice Cream Socials

Real-life National Geographic explorers will be featured on summer holiday weekends, sharing their extraordinary adventures and educating youngsters about their fascinating travels to the ends of the Earth. Each explorer interacts with kids during their half-day and full-day session, followed by an ice cream social for the whole family. The National Geographic explorers visiting in 2010 are:

  • Memorial Weekend – Saturday, May 29th, Wildlife Naturalist & Nat Geo WILD TV Host Casey Anderson
  • Fourth of July Weekend – Saturday, July 3rd, Filmmaker and Journalist Michael Davie
  • Labor Day Weekend – Saturday, September 4, Photographer Annie Griffiths

The holiday Nat Geo Explorer Speaker Saturday Ice Cream Social is $15 per person, for kids and adults or $50 per family (up to five people)

Arizona Jones & Bobcat Billy

The Fairmont Scottsdale’s new resident explorer “Arizona Jones” and his costumed mascot pal, “Bobcat Billy,” will be out and about through the resort, visiting families during their stay. Guests can see them at LV Bistro, Sonoran Splash or even popping in a few times to the National Geographic Explorers Camp. These new Fairmont friends will make their debut Fourth of July weekend.

Just for Teens

The ultra-swank Teen Hangout is designed for teens, ages 13-17, and features a private music room, a 42" plasma TV complete with a selection of more than 100 DVDs, a Cyber Cafe, three XBOX stations and, of course, the all-important couches for just “hanging out.” Access is complimentary.
