Kaiseki is a traditional Japanese dining experience that emphasizes seasonality, simplicity, and balance. Rooted in Zen Buddhism, Kaiseki originated as a form of meditation practice for monks and evolved into an artful culinary tradition that celebrates the natural flavors of the ingredients. At Bourbon Steak Scottsdale, Executive Chefs Sara Garrant and Andrew Vera, under the guidance of Chef Michael Mina, have embraced the principles of Kaiseki to create a tasting menu that reflects the essence of Japanese cuisine.
