Give Back

In today’s world, human interactions, connections and meaningful experiences are what really matters. At the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess, we want our colleagues to think as one, to reflect on our mission, and our purpose. We had to start with the basics:

WHY DO WE DO WHAT WE DO? To connect hearts all around the world

WHO ARE WE AT ACCORHOTELS? Heart + Artist = Heartist – We are HEARTISTS®. Passionate and expert in what we do, we master the fine art of welcoming, connecting, and serving others. Generous, creative and free, we are passionate about people, attentive to the world. We know how to dream and push limits!

WHAT DO WE DO IN ESSENCE? We make the world a more welcoming place

HOW DO WE DO IT? By placing people at the heart of everything we do

We are more than our guest rooms, restaurants, pools and shops. We are our colleagues. We are defined by our culture and the meaningful ways in which we enrich the community. Through our colleague committees that let our colleagues share their passions within the hotel and local community, Legacy Events, such as Christmas at the Princess, Kentucky Derby and Summer at the Princess and many more, we strive to embody the spirit of community by giving back in meaningful ways.

We see a “Heartist®” in each employee — a master of the art of hospitality who serves others from the heart, with curiosity and inventiveness.

At the Princess this year, we've focused on our mission and purpose through four pillars: Love, Respect, Collaboration and Joy. This collective momentum has defined the key elements of our identity and what we want our guests and employees to experience as a part of AccorHotels.

As we want to provide our guests and employees with exceptional experiences that will turn them into raving fans who lock us into their hearts, our Desired Guest Experience is defined in line with our Optimal Employee Experience, because guest experience depends on employee experience. Teams are the most important key, not just to make our guest experience a success, but also to optimize our own employee experience.

We surveyed our colleagues to learn their core values – what is most important to them? We found that they care most about, in succession:

  • Children/Education
  • Veterans
  • First Responders
  • Animals

It was our honor to raise money and donate time and space to put together back-to-school kits. We partnered with Back2School America, a non-profit that creates and supports educational opportunities that enrich the lives of children in the United States through distributing school supplies. Our team boxed 408 boxes to give back to our local community and then delivered them to Homeless Youth Connection and Sojourner Center.

More about Homeless Youth Connection: Homeless Youth Connection youth are high school ages 13-18 who have been identified by their school district as experiencing homelessness. The youth could be with a family or an individual who is couch surfing, living at a hotel, living in a car, or living with a relative.

More about Sojourner Center: Since 1977, Sojourner Center has been a safe haven from domestic violence in Arizona. They transform lives by providing shelter and support services to adults and children affected by domestic violence.
