KENTUCKY DERBY LAWN PARTY

Saturday, May 2, 2015 from 1 - 5pm
Experience the “fastest two minutes in sports” and watch your favorite silks during the 141st annual Run for the Roses on our plasma screens both indoors and out at Michael Mina’s Bourbon Steak. Enjoy a Southern-style lunch featuring Kentucky Derby hot browns, shrimp and grits arancini, buttermilk oyster sliders and more. Sweet sensations include chess pie, red velvet cupcakes and Derby pie. Join us on the patio and lawn for classic mint juleps, bourbon tastings, live music, a photo booth, lawn games and photos in the “Winner’s Circle”. Southern belles and gents, wear your fanciest hats and sharpest suits to compete for prizes in our Southern Style contest. $85 per person includes complimentary valet parking, commemorative keepsake Kentucky Derby glass and three complimentary cocktails. CINCO DE MAYO

Recently named “the #1 Mexican Restaurant in Scottsdale” by USA Today, La Hacienda is taking you back in time with their “Old Ways – New Hands” themed Cinco De Mayo menu featuring classics from their debut menu in the 1990’s Retro favorites include: Bacon-wrapped shrimp in quajillo butter sauce La Hacienda Caesar with marinated tomato, tortilla strips and cotija cheese Deep fried lobster, roasted garlic butter, mango habanero salsa and flour tortilla Celebrating is also about sipping, and there’s no shortage of south-of-the-border spirits with 240 selections of tequila presented by Tequila Goddess Abeer Besharieh, who will reprise her role as “Tequila Sheila” a shot-toting cowgirl, packing tequila bottles in her holster, a throw-back to La Hacienda’s popular character from the 90’s. Mija, the resort’s beer burro who sports a mini sombrero, will tote a variety of Mexican beer in her satchel and happily poses for photos (In fact, she loves being tagged on Facebook). Entertainment will include a roaming mariachi band throughout the restaurant.
