Kentucky Derby at Michael Mina's BOURBON STEAK
The Kentucky Derby – “the most exciting two minutes in sports” - will be celebrated in grand style at BOURBON STEAK at the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess with a special brunch, 11 a.m. – 3 p.m., Saturday, May 5, 2012.
Like “Millionaire’s Row” at Churchhill Downs, each guest will enjoy the traditions of the Derby atmosphere, including frosty mint juleps, live blues music by the Chuck Hall Band, bourbon tastings, horseshoes on the lawn, prizes and gifts.
BOURBON STEAK’s Kentucky Derby Brunch is $69 per person. Reservations are suggested by calling 480.513.6002. Tickets may also be purchased at the door. A portion of the proceeds from the event will benefit the Arizona Equine Rescue Organization. Click here for more information.

Celebrating the spirit of Mexico with pride, colorful décor, flavorful food, music – and for fun, yes, a beer donkey – La Hacienda is spicing things up for Cinco de Mayo with a party on the plaza, Saturday, May 5, 2012.
Recently named the #1 Mexican restaurant by AZ Business Magazine , La Hacienda starts the evening with strolling mariachis at 4 p.m., then turns up the heat with salsa dancers and a 5-piece Latin band from 7 p.m. – 10 p.m.
At this festival marketplace, the food takes center stage, where guests visit Maria at her tortilla-making station, sample fresh salsas and order tacos off the restaurant’s street-style taco cart. La Hacienda’s regular menu will also be served indoors and out. With twinkling lights, streamers of Mexican flags, piñatas and the plaza fountain lit in red and green, revelers can dine alfresco and enjoy the action from one of the restaurant’s cozy fire pit tables on the patio.
